Site Rules !
part one: general !
one l
You must respect your fellow players. The fandom already has enough wank/shipwars/what have you for us to drown in. I have no problem with people disagreeing with each other, but there is no reason that you should get snippy with someone just because you have a differing opinion. Any form of trolling, or being purposely vindictive to an individual will be taken extremely seriously, and depending on the amount of brutally contained within the cruel statements, it could lead to expulsion from the site. I simply won't have bullying here. You have been warned.
two l
If you have a problem with any of your fellow players, please come to me. I'll listen. That's what I'm here for. I don't care how the small the issue is, I'd rather you come to me first thing so that I can nip it in the bud. I'd much rather contain and extinguish a match then a forest fire. I never judge, and I won't make you feel bad about. I'm a grown up, I can handle it.
three l
According to Proboard's Terms of Service, you must be thirteen (13) years of age or older to play here. No if, ands, or buts on this one. I'm sorry, that's their rules, not mine.
four l
You are required to post at least twice weekly. These are in character posts, posting in games won't cut it. If you're going to be gone longer than that, please post in the going away thread.
part two: joining !
one l
Only one canon per person. This is to give everyone a chance to play a canon. Additionally, you may have up to three characters. Absolutely no more unless you're balls to the wall active. PM me if you get to this stage, and I'll make the decision. I'm easy to win over if you come with chocolate, keep that in mind.
two l
Only one character per account. Making a new character requires a new account. Everytime. No exceptions. Things get disorganized otherwise.
three l
You're free to make your username whatever you want it to be. Just nothing offense, please. After you join just change your display name to your character's name. First and last, please.
four l
Check to make sure that your face claim isn't already in use! The only way two people can share a single play by is if they're twins, and that requires both of the players agreeing to it.
part three: applying !
one l
Do not post anywhere besides the registration board until you are approved. The only exception is the face claim.
two l
Do not, under any circumstances, edit the application template. It was made that way for a reason. Any editing of it will warrant a hold on your application until it's fixed.
three l
Your name cannot be a play on, or identical, to a canon's name, nor can any part of it be deprived from your play by's, or a someone they're know for playing's, name. This is a great way to potentially get you, or me, sued. A little bit of creative naming ever hurt.
four l
Please be at least somewhat familiar with Glee. You don't have to watch Glee to play here, but you can not take a canon unless you're throughly updated on the show. We don't follow the plot here, but we do believe in making our character's as close to canon as possible.
part four: posts !
one l
All posts must be in the third person, past tense. Proper grammar and spelling are also required. Minor typos from time to time are okay, but if you have more grammatic errors than not errors, I may have a chat with you about it. You must use quotation marks around speech.
two l
Three hundred words is the minimum. A paragraph consists of five or more sentences. There has never, and will never be such a thing as a two sentence paragraph. Please understand that now. You will be PMed about a post that does not meet this criteria. And keep in mind, more is always encouraged and appreciated by the person you're playing with. Just, don't force it, if it comes, it comes, if it doesn't, then it doesn't. Quality over quantity is always the golden rule of roleplay.
three l
Do not God Mode (also known as power play) another person's character. If you're not sure what that is, then I don't think this is the site for you. I'm sorry.
four l
Matching is encouraged, but not required. If someone gives you a stunning novella, and you reply back with a quick two paragraphs, then you're basically spitting in their face. It's simply common courtesy, plus you have a more to work off of. Pushing for only the bare minimum won't help grow your writing skills.
part five: images !
one l
Only real human people may portray your character. This really should go without saying given the fandom, but there, I said it.
two l
You must have an avatar when you post your application. Without one, your application will be put on hold until fixed.
three l
Do not stretch the board. If an image stretches the board, it will be removed. In addition, signatures may not surpass four hundred (400) pixels height wise.
four l
No overly goth/emo/punk play-bys will be accepted. I'm not saying that your play by can't have an edge, but I own't be accepting Jeffree Star or Amor Hilton. Sorry, but we are in small town Ohio, and considering the slack that Tina got because of her mild gothic style, I really can't realistically accept anyone that hails from Myspace fame.
five l
No nudity. You have Google for porn, not this board.
part six: in closing !
disclaimer l
As the Admin of Don't Blink, I reserve the right to alter, or add to the above listed rules at any given time. Continuing to disobey the rules after a series of warnings will lead to your banishment form our humble home. Overzealous disrespect and bullying to another player will result in an immediate banning without warning. There's a reason it's rule number one. Please have fun and enjoy your stay here, we're happy to have you.
